Now you’re ready to go on your first GeoQuest: High-Tech Treasure
Hunt!
The South Beach section of Miami Beach encompasses the southernmost 23
blocks of an island separating the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay. This
area was the first section of Miami Beach to be developed, starting in
the 1910s. South Beach is filled with history (and of course, great
shopping) and a Holocaust Memorial that will take your breath away.
The GeoQuest treasure hunt is centered around Lincoln Road, an open-air
pedestrian mall, considered to be South Beach's premiere shopping area.
Do
you know what honors “those who walk in no one’s shoes, and in whose
shoes none can walk?” If you’re successful, you’ll find out when you
participate in GeoQuest: Miami. How about, “Where and when was Morris
Lapidus born?” Or, “How many sea horses adorn this work by Carlos Alves?”
You will truly experience all that South Beach has to offer as you seek
the answers to these and many other clues. |
